SCHOOL SUPPLIES COLLECTION  Donated school supplies will be delivered to Prairie Lake Elementary School early this week.  Thank you to all who purchased supplies!  If you forgot to bring yours today, please drop them by tomorrow (Monday) so they will be included in our donation to the school.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL MUNCH  Sunday, August 20th, immediately following the worship service, is our Back-to-School  MUNCH.  See Myriam Manigat to RSVP for you and your family, and to select the side items you want to contribute.  As we celebrate the end of summer, we will again have outside water games and activities, so kids (and maybe adults too), will want to bring your swim suits!

GOOD NEWS CLUB  In just a few weeks, we will begin Good News Club at Prairie Lake Elementary for another school year.  If you would like to participate (or if you just need some more information to determine whether this is a commitment you can make), please contact Donna Rodgers as soon as possible.

DISTRICT WOMEN’S RETREAT  The District Women’s Retreat this year will be held in Daytona, October 13-15.  Registration is $90, if you register by September 1st.  There are flyers at the Information Desk.  Find 1-3 people to share the room cost with.  Let’s be well-represented this year!

BE THE CHURCH FOR HAITI  There will be two opportunities for us to raise money to help purchase school books, backpacks and uniforms for kids in Haiti to whom we have ministered over the years.
    Wash n Worship - On Sunday, August 27th (two weeks from now), come prepared to have your vehicle washed between 9am and noon by our RED students.  100% of whatever you donate to have your car washed will go to the Haiti school fund. 
    Community Garage Sale - On Saturday, September 9th, the women of Westwood will sponsor a garage sale at Dianne Lee's home.  Please contact Carol Rich or Amy Cook if you have items to donate.
100% of funds raised will go to the Haiti school fund.

MINISTRY ACTION TEAMS  We are looking for MAT team members who would like to join Matt Kelly in keeping us focused on International Ministries, and those who would be willing to lead, or serve on, the Facilities MAT and the Stewardship MAT.  Please contact the office if you think these ministry opportunities might be a fit for you.
 
S.O.A.P.ING WEEKLY  In order to prepare your spirit for the message each week, S.O.A.P. through a passage (read the Scripture, make your Observation, find a specific Application, and write a Prayer) in advance of Sunday service.  Then come prepared to share what the Holy Spirit has spoken to you through God’s Word.  For the month of August, we will SOAP a chapter of Proverbs every day – 31 chapters, 31 days, 31 SOAPS.  This past week, we SOAPed chapters 1-6. Next week, it’s 7-13, one chapter each day.  Then a chapter a day for the rest of the month.

24/7 PRAYER FOR OUR CITY  The 7th of each month we are committed to blanket our city with prayer.  That’s tomorrow!  So, Prayer Team (and everyone else who want to see God change Orlando}, get ready!

SCHOOL SUPPLIES COLLECTION  As part of our collaboration with Prairie Lake Elementary School, we will collect school supplies to donate for the classrooms.  We only have a week before school starts, and now is the time to get some real bargains.  On the board at the back of the Sanctuary are cards listing the items teachers have requested.  Take as many cards as you can, purchase the items, and make sure to return them by next Sunday, August 13th.  We will deliver everything to the school the following week.
