October 26, 2014

*TIME CHANGE *Remember next Saturday night (November 1st) to set your clocks back one hour. Everyone should get a good night’s sleep. No excuses for being late Sunday morning.

*PRAYER AND PRAISE *Thursday, October 30, 2014, Dr. John Stumbo, President of the C&MA, will lead another nation-wide, live-streaming event – an evening of prayer and praise with thousands of others in the Alliance family. Please join with us from 8:00-9:30 pm at the church, as we partner in prayer with Christians around the world.

*FOOD PANTRY *Food Pantry is running low. We especially need rice & pastas, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit and canned vegetables, canned meats (chicken and tuna).

*ELECTION DAY: NOVEMBER 4TH, 2014 *Please exercise your right and responsibility as a citizen to vote in the local, state, and national elections.

*FOOD PACKING EVENT *On Saturday, November 15, 2014, from 9:00-11:00 AM, we will join forces with No Child Hungry, to pack nutritious meals for hungry children in Haiti and in our local area. Begin this week to raise additional funds. Envelopes and forms are available.

*RED FALL RETREAT *Our Middle and High School RED students are at Lake Swan Camp for their fall retreat this weekend. Continue to pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of our students! Parents should be here to pick up their students at 4 pm today.

*FAMILY CIRCUS COMING TO WESTWOOD *Friday, 11/7/14, we will be showcasing Westwood’s FAMILY CIRCUS. This is your family’s chance to “be in the Circus”. Come and meet Ringmaster Dan and Django! Flyers are available with a sign-up form. Last day to submit your act is today. Great opportunity for family fun and fellowship at the church.

*BEYOND YOUR FENCE *Remember to keep looking “beyond your fence” as we head into the holidays. Here are a few suggestions:

· Consider having your own little Fall Festival and getting together with neighbors on Friday. Maybe take the kids trick-or-treating together, or have a fun festive meal, or whatever. Just reach out.

· The Community & Connections MAT is beginning to collect items for Thanksgiving Baskets to be distributed the Mon, Tue and Wed before Thanksgiving. Look for the list of items and add some to your shopping list. Also, consider helping assemble the baskets on Sunday evening, November 23rd.

· Watch for the Angel Tree in the lobby beginning next week. Take an ornament and buy a Christmas gift for a child of one of the guys from The Bridge.
