BACKYARD SUNDAY MUNCH Next Sunday, July 2nd, will be Backyard Sunday! We will celebrate Independence Day together with very casual worship followed by a cookout Munch. Dress for a picnic, bring your lawn chairs or blankets to sit on DURING SERVICE as well as for our indoor picnic MUNCH following. Burgers, hot dogs, buns, corn-on-the-cob and condiments will be provided. We’re asking you to bring drinks, sides and desserts based on the first letter of your last name:
A-H – Dessert
I-P – Drinks
Q-Z – Side Dishes
Also, come with yard games or board games to play both outdoors and indoors after lunch. You may want to bring swimsuits for the kids (and maybe yourself) – looks like there may be water games outside. It will certainly be lots of fun with good food and fellowship!
CHOICES WOMEN’S CLINIC We are rejoicing with Choices Women's Clinic as they have received the needed Certificate of Occupancy for the new location on Colonial Dr, and hope to begin seeing clients there next week. There are still a few jobs that need to be completed. See if you can help with any of the following this week.
In the Baby Boutique:
• Skilled Wallpaper Installer Needed ASAP
• Volunteers to hang shelves and decorate
• Paint desks and other furniture pieces with chalk paint
If so, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a time to go and work.
S.O.A.P.ING WEEKLY In order to prepare your spirit for the message each week, S.O.A.P. through a passage (read the Scripture, make your Observation, find a specific Application, and write a Prayer) in advance of Sunday service. Then come prepared to share what the Holy Spirit has spoken to you through God’s Word. The passage for next week is I Peter 4:7-11. Even though we haven’t recently asked you to participate publicly with your SOAPed thoughts, that doesn’t mean we won’t. It’s very beneficial for you to focus your thoughts on God’s Word, and give His Spirit opportunity to speak to you before Sunday’s message is presented. Be ready. One of these Sundays, you’ll be called on again.
SUMMER 5 DAY CLUB What a week we have had! We had about 40 kids enrolled for the Discovering Jesus 5 Day Club last week. They all had great fun, ate entertaining snacks, made and took home exciting crafts. And, most importantly, there were several who made first-time commitments to Jesus as Savior! What a life-changing discovery that is!
GOT QUESTIONS? Next month, our message series will be Ask-it-ology. If there are questions or issues you want to hear addressed, please submit them on your Communications Card today. We already have some tough questions. (We’ll look at subjects like the character and attitudes Christians are generally known for; where we stand on, and how we handle the LGBTQ questions; what God’s sovereignty means for us in the real world; and more.) Don’t miss the opportunity to get yours in the mix. Last chance is today.
