DISTRICT CONFERENCE We had about 150 pastors and official workers from the Alliance Southeast District at Westwood over the past two days for the annual district conference. It was a great time of fellowship, encouragement and vision casting for our Alliance churches. Thank you to all of you who gave up parts of your weekend to serve our district staff and pastors. Your willingness to sacrifice your time and energies on behalf of these ministries was greatly appreciated by all who attended! Congratulations to those who were ordained at the Friday night service – especially to Reverend Jeff Simpson, who was formally part of our staff!

CHOICES WOMEN’S CENTER LUCERNE PROJECT Please join with us as we pray for the purchase of new facilities for the Choices Women’s Center. The original goal was to raise $750,000 by September 15th. Many small, and some large donations have come in. Let’s contribute, and pass the word to complete the fundraising. Please pray with us for God’s miraculous provision for this vital life-saving ministry.

BASICS If you have been attending Westwood Church for a while, and would like to know more about why and how we engage in ministry in West Orlando, you’ll want to consider taking the BASICs class. The date for the next BASICs class has been changed to Sunday, October 18th, immediately following the worship service. Lunch will be provided, and we will meet for about an hour in the Conference Room. There is about an hour’s worth of advance preparation for you to do before attending the class. Please note “BASICs” on your Communication Card, or contact the office if you would like to be included.

OUR TCK (Third Culture Kid) In February 2013, our Children’s Ministry adopted for friendship, Derek Kes, the youngest child of Bounoeuy & Chanthan Kes, who serve as missionaries in Cambodia. Our children have supported Derek over the past couple of years with cards, letters and gifts, extending a hand of friendship and connection to him. Our kids will have the opportunity to communicate with Derek next week via Skype. And, next Sunday, they will be serving snacks and drinks in the lobby before service and asking for your financial support to help cover the cost of Derek’s birthday gift as he turns 12 this month! We hope you’ll stop by and encourage the children as they take part in this important ministry!
