WESTWOOD WOMEN SUMMER EVENTS A huge “thank you” to Pam David, Myriam Manigat and Valarie Daly for planning and hosting Dinner and Flip Flops this past Friday. It was a great connection time – getting to know one another better, enjoying terrific food, and hearing from Lexi McNair about her call to missions in Germany. If you missed it, you really missed out! Don’t miss the next one!

Saturday, August 27th, we will spend the day (8 am – 5 pm) at Pine Island, having Fun in the Sun, paddle boarding, snorkeling, and enjoying each other’s company. All the details, and the chance to sign up will soon be available. Set the date aside now on your calendar.

ALLIANCE WOMEN’S RETREAT September 30-October 2 at Daytona Beach. If you haven’t already, please get registered for the Everything Younique district women’s retreat. The speaker is Lisa Meiners from Deeper Still Ministries. $75 registration has been extended to the end of July. Cost of accommodations will depend on how many share a room. So recruit some roommates and register ASAP. Informational flyers are available on the back table.

FIFTH SUNDAY CHOIR There are five Sundays in July, which means we will have the pleasure of our choir leading us in worship again. If you would like to be part of the choir on Sunday, July 31st, contact Jaime Largaespada by calling the church office or by emailing jaimel@westwoodchurch.com. She’ll get the music to you so you can begin practicing.

ADOPT-A-PRECINCT COMING THIS FALL There are two important election dates coming soon – August 30 (Primary Election), and November 8 (General Election). Westwood Church will be a polling place for the first time this year, and we have elected to “adopt” our precinct. That means we will provide the poll workers from our congregation for both elections. All poll worker volunteers have been scheduled for training in late July or early August. All workers will receive email reminders of their training dates next week.

As we look forward to these two dates, let’s spend time praying for our country, all our elected officials and those who will be stepping into important positions of leadership very soon. And, take your right and responsibility to vote very seriously. If you haven’t already registered, the last date to do so for the Primary Election is August 1st, and for the General Election, October 11th. Once you have registered, pray for wisdom and clarity as you determine how you will use your vote!
