English as a Second Language
We are currently registering students for our fall semester ESL course. At Westwood Church, we are serving newcomers to our community by offering a FREE English as a Second Language course. Why You Should Consider Taking an ESL Course
Moving to a new country is an act of courage—and learning the language is one of the most powerful steps you can take to thrive in your new home. If you’ve recently immigrated to America, enrolling in an English as a Second Language (ESL) course could be one of the most important decisions you make for your future.
Unlock Opportunities
English is the language of opportunity in the United States. Whether you're applying for a job, starting a business, enrolling your children in school, or simply navigating daily life, a strong grasp of English gives you the confidence to take on new challenges and the ability to take advantage of more opportunities.
Speak with Confidence
An ESL course helps you improve your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in a supportive environment. You'll learn how to express yourself clearly, understand others, and feel more connected in conversations—whether you're talking to a doctor, helping your child with homework, or introducing yourself at a community event.

ESL Classes At Westwood
Why would a church be teaching English as a Second Language?
For us the answer is simple. Jesus said the second greatest commandment, after loving God, is to love ones neighbor as oneself. This concept is highlighted in the Gospels through parables like the Good Samaritan, where Jesus illustrates that a “neighbor” is anyone in need, regardless of background, or social status. Loving our neighbor, as Jesus taught, involves more than just feeling affection; it includes tangible acts of compassion, kindness and generosity.
Our ESL classes are staffed with volunteers and leaders who have invested their own time and treasure in learning how to teach and facilitate competent English as a Second Language classes that can be of great benefit to our students.
Sign up for our Fall Semester today and you can be confidently speaking English this year.
